 Eklingji Temple, Udaipur

The famous Hindu temple complex Eklingji in Udaipur District of Rajasthan in the western India. Eklingi temple is believed to be the ruling deity Princely state of Mewar and the Ruler Maharana rules as his Dewans.  Eklingji temple is located in town of Eklingji ( kailashpuri), the place has got its popular name from the temple itself. It is at a distance of 22km in the North of the Udaipur.

It is dedicated to the lord Shiva of the Hindu religion.  The Eklingji temple was built in 734 A.D. by Bappa Rawal. Since from the time Eklingji has been the ruiling deity of Mewar rulers.

The architecture of Eklingji Temple is simply astonishing. The double-storied temple looks amazing with its pyramid style of roof and distinctly carved tower. The Outer walls of the temple are stretched with steps that descend touching of the serene waters. The main temple, from inside has huge pillar hall or mandap that is sheltered by hefty pyramid roof.  While entering in this hall, one will be welcomed by the silver image of Nandi. There are two other images of Nandi carved in black stone and brass respectively in the temple.

The Eklingi temple boasts of a striking four-faced idol of Eklingji (Lord Shiva) that is made out of the black marble.

You can conveniently reached by Car and Bus. Tourist can easily access to the complex from RSTC buses that runs from the Udaipur to Eklingji and other destinations of Rajasthan. Eklingi temple consists of 108 temples chiselled out of sandstone and marble. Near to the Eklingji temple; you can also trace the various temples that are dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Ambika Mata and Kalki.

Temple by the name of Nathon Ka Mandir that dates back to 10th century catches the attraction of tourists.

Other ancient temples near to Eklingji, like Shiva Temple that was built at the time of Maharana Raimal between 1473 and 1509.

Jain Temple, Ranakpur:

Ranakpur, the state of Rajasthan is one of the five most important pilgrimage sites of the Jainism. It is situated in the Aravali range of Pali district. It is approximately 23km from the Phalna railway station.

Jain temple was constructed by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. It is one of the largest and most important Jain Temple in the country.

Enclosing from the all the sides of the temple is a strong wall. The whole temple area is enclosed within a wall. The main temple is the Chamukha temple which is dedicated to the Tirthankara Rishabdeoji.
